High Contrast Imaging Testbed
Better than 10⁻⁹ contrast on JPL's HCIT for TPF and Eclipse.
- Where
- JPL High Contrast Imaging Testbed
- Programmes
- Terrestrial Planet Finder; Eclipse studies
- Result
- Contrast of about 5×10⁻¹⁰, monochromatic
For the Terrestrial Planet Finder and Eclipse studies, Chris ran experiments on JPL's High Contrast Imaging Testbed and reached a contrast of about 5×10⁻¹⁰ in monochromatic light. He also invented wavefront-control algorithms for space coronagraphy aimed at exoplanet detection.
